Last Saturday we hosted a ceili in Carfin in memory of Des Maguire raising £2000 for St Andrew’s Hospice. Des who sadly passed away last January, spent his last days in the hospice, and his family wanted to help raise funds so that the same level of care would be available to other patients and their families when needed. Des and his family were great members of our branch for many years, and we were honoured to do this in his memory.

Last weekend's ceili in Calderbank was a great success and raised £500 for Mary's Meals, thanks to everyone for the support, and to Angela for all the organising. The children of the class played a few tunes for her and then presented her with the cheque.

Just over a week ago the Glasgow Feis took place in Trinity High School Cambuslang, again this was a well organised event and so much talent was displayed from the young and old of all four Scottish Branches. Well done to all our members who took part especially those who were competing for the first time.
Hopefully this has given a bit of encouragement to all, to practice and enjoy their music. Next up is the Scottish Fleadh on the 29th April,in St Paul's Pollock, so keep up the good work everyone!

Peter gave us a song and the night finished off with Read more [...]
