Fleadh na hAlbain 2017

This year’s Scottish Fleadh will take place on 30th April in Taylor High School, New Stevenston. This event is hosted by Johnny Doherty CCÉ – further details to follow.

AGM 2015

The AGM will take place on Tuesday 27th October at 7.15pm in Taylor High School, all members are requested to attend

Change of venue

A wee reminder that our music and language classes are now taking place in Taylor High School New Stevenston from this evening onwards.

Fleadh na Breataine Preston 27-28th June 2015

A huge congratulations to all who took part in the All Britain Fleadh in Preston. Once again this was a well organised  and well attended event, and with the sun making a welcomed appearance, there was great music going on everywhere.

Next up  – the All Ireland, back to Sligo again!

Set Dance workshop / ceili 6th June 2015

A great day of Set Dancing was had by all, thanks to the marvellous efforts of Padraig and Roisin McEneaney who with their great expertise, had everyone dancing their socks off at the workshops, and again at the ceili in the evening with Johnny Rocks Ceili band. All Britain Fleadh

Well done to everyone who took part in the All Britain Fleadh in Coatbridge this weekend! It was a really good venue, and the music was brilliant – looking forward to Sligo now!

Workshops

Last weekend the branch hosted a come try fiddle workshop for complete beginners, and learning a few easy tunes for those who already have the basics of the instrument. This was offered out to all the Scottish branches to attend. We also incorporated some one to one tutoring sessions for the young people of the branch who have qualified through to All Britain, hopefully this will give them some more confidence in their performance. Glasgow Feis

On Sunday  several members of the branch travelled to Rutherglen for the annual Glasgow Feis, and took part in several competitions.
